Against the backdrop of evolving new materials, intelligent manufacturing and green low-carbon trends, Nonwoven materials are playing an increasingly vital role in modern industrial systems. Recently, the 3rd Donghua University Nonwovens Doctoral Supervisor Forum focused on the cutting-edge technologies and applications of Nonwoven materials, sparking in-depth discussions.
Industry Overview & Tech Planning Guide High-Quality Development
Li Yuhao, chief engineer of China Industrial Textile Association, sorted out the industry status and shared the preliminary research direction of the 15th Five-Year Plan. Data shows that China’s non-woven output rose from over 4 million tons in 2014 to a peak of 8.78 million tons in 2020, recovering to 8.56 million tons in 2024 with an average annual growth rate of 7%. Exports to the Belt and Road countries account for over 60% of the total, becoming a new growth driver. The 15th Five-Year Plan focuses on nine key areas, covering medical and health, environmental protection, new energy vehicles and smart textiles, promoting cross-integration with electronic information and AI technologies.
Innovative Technologies Boost High-End Filtration Applications
In the filtration field, researchers are innovating from the source. Prof. Jin Xiangyu from Donghua University proposed a liquid electret technology, which increases filtration efficiency by 3.67% and reduces resistance by 1.35mmH2O compared with electric electret. Assoc. Prof. Xu Yukang from Soochow University developed a vanadium-based catalytic PTFE filter material with 99.1% dioxin degradation efficiency. Prof. Cai Guangming from Wuhan Textile University developed non-rolled point high-flux filter materials and new folded filter cartridges, improving service life and dust cleaning effect.
